Windows 10 May 2020 Update is Causing Problems with Intel Optane Memory

For some users, the new Windows 10 May 2020 Update is causing problems in one of the most important places you can use a computer: The memory. Intel Optane memory is a fast and small type of RAM that’s useful for things like video editing and web browsing. If your computer or laptop runs into issues with Windows 10 version 1809, you’ll know it. The problem is that unlike DRAM, Optane memory doesn’t work with Windows 10’s Hyper-V virtualization technology, Microsoft’s Windows Subsystem for Linux.

The Windows 10 May 2020 Update, aka May 8th Release is currently causing a number of problems with Intel Optane Memory.

Microsoft recently released the Windows 10 May 2020 Update for PCs, which brought a number of new features, including support for the new Intel Optane Memory. The Intel Optane Memory and the Windows 10 May 2020 Update is the first time that the new memory technology has been used in consumer devices. Intel Optane Memory is a form of memory that is currently used by high-end laptops and desktops, and is gaining in popularity as a storage medium for laptops and desktops.
