Fitbit Blaze Review

Fitbit’s Blaze is an expensive smart fitness tracker that can also sync with certain smartwatches. It tracks your steps, distance, calories burned, and sleep, and even gives you a notification when you’re not moving enough. It also has a built-in GPS, heart rate monitor, and a display that shows your steps per minute. The Blaze has physical buttons to control the device, but it’s not the only fitness tracker with a touchscreen. Some fitness trackers have touchscreens as well. Fitbit’s new Versa smartwatch is also a touchscreen tracker, but it’s more than just a watch. It can also be used as a stand-alone fitness tracker, and it has some smartwatch functionality.

For the past couple of years, Fitbit has been the leading brand of fitness trackers, offering a wide range of affordable options that provide fitness tracking features such as heart rate, step counter, a daily step goal, a sleep tracker, and even caller ID notifications.

I’ve been using Fitbit for years. It is easy to use and record your steps, distance, calories burned and active minutes. I was using it as an everyday fitness tracker and just starting to use it as a gaming tracker. I was able to get a Fitbit Blaze for a great price from a friend for my birthday.

The Fitbit Blaze has a very distinctive look and is very similar to an Apple Watch. It’s also one of the best-selling fitness trackers of all time. You can find a full review of the Fitbit Blaze here.

Fitbit Blazefitness trackerfeatures graphics

This table shows all the key features of the Fitbit Blaze fitness tracker.

Fitbit Blaze features word-image-17670
Constant heart rate monitoring? Yes, with an optical heart rate monitor so you don’t have to wear a chest strap.
Simplified heart rate zones? Yes, you can immediately see how much of your workout was spent in the maximum heart rate zone, cardio zone and fat burn zone.
Date and time display ? Dial options include date and time. Each of them needs time.
Automatic sleep monitoring ? Yes – exactly and very useful. Very useful for those who have sleep problems.
Calories burned I think that’s fair. Works with METs (metabolic equivalents) and tells you throughout the day how many calories you’ve burned (even if you just took a nap!).
Silent alarm Yes
Number indicator? Yes
Integrated GPS ? No, but it syncs very easily and quickly with your smartphone’s GPS.
How long does it take for GPS to acquire satellites? Connects to your phone’s GPS in an instant – very impressive!
Can you link it to your Strava account? Yes, you can connect it and it will automatically upload your runs, walks and bike rides to your Strava account. Excellent!
Does it have a multi-sport feature? Yes, you can let it know that you are walking, biking, hiking, exercising, etc. It records this time as active minutes and records the activity in the log. You set your preferred exercises on the control panel. For activities such as running and cycling, you can also record the distance travelled.
Sensors and components : 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope, optical heart rate monitor, altimeter, light sensor and vibration motor.
Does it track active minutes? Yes. By default, a high heart rate is not considered a workout until your heart rate has been elevated for 15 minutes. A high heart rate for 2 minutes is probably an attempt to cool down Windows, not a workout. You can change this default value. Also, by default GPS is not tracked for all active minutes. You should tell it that you start a workout with a GPS icon. As soon as you let him know that you, for example. For example, when you start a bike ride, it tries to connect to the GPS on your connected smartphone. Once it has found it, press the Let’s Go! button and it will record both the active minutes and a map of your journey until you press Stop. This of course requires more battery power.
Counting the steps I think it’s very accurate.
sexing I think it’s very accurate.
Sleep monitoring It does it extremely well and automatically. This is extremely helpful for people who have sleep problems.
Can it be used to lose weight? Yes, you can set up a weight loss plan on your dashboard. Fitbit calculates the number of calories you need to consume to lose weight. It then tracks the number of calories you burn and the number you consume throughout the day. Of course, you have to enter data about what you eat. Once you have done this, it has a large database of calories that it uses for its calculations.
Operation Best of all, with three buttons and a touch screen, you can easily swipe across the screen to view stats on the go.
View Large display with choice of four screen sizes; very easy to read, even in bright light. Colour LCD touch screen with backlight.
What you can see on the screen The face is much bigger. It can provide notifications about the caller’s identity when synchronized with your smartphone, daily statistics and, of course, the time of day. You can also preview the text messages.
Measurement of resting heart rate Everything looks good; it’s nice that you can check your heart rate at any time, as well as your stats over a period of time.
Distance travelled in one day It seems consistent and reliable.
Can you control your music with it? Yes. A quick press on the top right button brings up a screen that lets you pause and start the music, as well as fast forward and rewind. Very practical. If you have a compatible mobile device running iOS 8 or later, the music controls will work automatically after the Blaze is set up. The Fitbit Blaze is also compatible with Windows mobile devices for music control, while the Fitbit Surge is not.
What colours are available? A wide range of watch straps in different colors and textures. When purchasing, choose a black, blue, or plum-colored strap as an entry-level option. The watch itself has a beautiful matte silver color.
Does it accurately measure active minutes? That sounds good – it’s nice to look back and see a record of when you were active.
Automatic synchronization? That sounds about right – it’s nice to look back and see a recording from a time when you were active.
What’s it like to wear it? It’s larger than the Charge HR, but thinner than the Surge. At the same time, it is very pleasant to the touch and comfortable on the skin. It is made of elastomer, a flexible, durable and lightweight material, so it fits comfortably on the wrist.
Sizing It’s small. Choose one size bigger than normal. I am of average height and needed a large size
Can you swim with it? Certainly not! It is splash proof, but not waterproof.
How do you control your activities? On the go, you’ll have some basic functions that you can view on the tracker – like. For example: steps taken, current heart rate, miles traveled today, calories burned today, and floors climbed today. You can view a detailed dashboard of all your activities on your smartphone and on your computer. The link with Fit.com is one of Fitbit’s key assets. It’s a great way to track your activity and progress.
How long does the battery last? About five days.
How do you load it? You remove the watch face from the watch, place it in a small charging box and connect the charging box to a power source. Charging takes about an hour.
Calling up functions You can set goals, invite friends to join, etc.
Does this enable you to make smarter decisions? Absolutely. It’s very motivating. It also sometimes sends you a message of encouragement when you’re close to your goal, or congratulates you when you’ve reached it!
Data visualization This will give you access to Fitbit.com, where you can view a complete dashboard with data on everything: steps, minutes of activity, activity over time, heart rate over time, etc. – can see.
Sync by There were no problems with syncing – it syncs well and automatically with the phone and the computer.
Is a dongle needed to connect to a computer? No need for a dongle! So you can link it to multiple computers if you wish.
What’s on your wrist? Home (watch face); Today (steps/meters/miles/longs/calories burned/high); Exercise (select type of activity to record); Fitstar (select built-in workout); Timer (stopwatch, countdown timer, alarms); Settings
Fitstar The Blaze has a Fitstar feature, which are two built-in workouts you can follow.

Fitbit BlazeAesthetics

The Fitbit Blaze has a colorful watch face and menu. You can choose from four different dials. These are all the color options for the Fitbit Blaze.  Notice that on the dial, the second from the right, the blue circle is almost complete. When you have reached the goal of your stage, it is completed. That way, you can see how close you are to your goal in stages throughout the day. word-image-17671 You select a watch face in the settings, and the next time you sync, the watch face is updated. The Fitbit Blaze also has a strap that you can swap out, giving you a lot of options when it comes to the look of your watch. The Fitbit Blaze has an interchangeable strap, giving you many more options for the look of the watch. That’s when the Fitbit Blaze tells you it’s time to get up! word-image-6438

Call and text notifications on Fitbit Blaze

The Fitbit Blaze beeps and displays an incoming call or text message notification. You can also disable this feature if it bothers you. And you can scroll down to read the text. I find this feature very useful. I like to know that an important person is trying to communicate with me, like my wife or kids (or someone I can ignore, like a bank). It also helps to look at my wrist while driving and decide that I’m not going to interrupt my commute to take a meaningless phone call! Of course, you can’t answer text messages or calls with this fitness tracker. You need a smartwatch for that, not a fitness tracker.

Controlling music on your Fitbit Blaze

The Fitness Blaze lets you control your music from your wrist. I know many people don’t see the point of it, but I find it very useful. I often listen to books on my phone, and I’ve found that the controls on most Bluetooth headsets can be a bit clunky – for example, I sometimes restart a chapter even though I didn’t intend to. Also, the buttons on the headphones are almost impossible to use with cycling gloves. Review I often listen to books on my phone and find the ability to control the Audible app from my wrist very, very convenient. It’s a Fitbit Blaze that gives me access to the book I’m reading. You can open this sound control screen by double-clicking the button in the upper right corner. word-image-17672 I find the music control on this device very convenient when I’m biking or running. Especially when my phone is in the pram on my bike!

Fitbit Blaze silent alarms

The Fitbit Blaze lets you set silent alarms on your computer or mobile phone. You can enable or disable these signals on the clock itself. I like this feature because I find it less annoying than the beeper. For safety, I set the silent alarm two minutes earlier than my usual alarm. He usually wakes me up in time to turn off the ringer. At least I avoid a stressful event before I even get up! There are many species, with different characteristics and faces, and also different ranges. Fitbit Blaze review width=750 height=315 data-recalc-dims=1/>You won’t be bored with your Fitbit Blaze. With so many different features and faces, and with different ranges, it has a lot of potential.

Fitbit Blaze Optical Heart Rate Monitor

The Fitbit Blaze features an optical heart rate monitor that allows you to continuously record your heart rate without wearing a chest strap. This allows the fitness tracker to automatically record your sleep. This is a great feature. I used it to confirm that I had sleep problems, and showed my doctor a Fitbit printout of my irregular sleep patterns. She referred me to a clinic that specializes in sleep disorders. So I’m not surprised that Fitbit trackers are increasingly being used in clinical practice.

Multi-sport function in the Fitbit Blaze

The Fitbit Blaze has a multi-sport feature – you can use it to. For example, say you are going for a walk, bike ride, run, exercise, etc. It records this time as active minutes and enters it into your daily log. You customize these exercises on your dashboard and can sort them in the order you prefer, so your favorite exercise always appears first.

GPS in the Fitbit Blaze

For the cyclist in me, GPS tracking makes a big difference. For this reason, I didn’t think the Fitbit Blaze would appeal to me because it doesn’t have a built-in GPS chip. But I was surprised. The Fitbit Blaze syncs almost seamlessly and very quickly with your smartphone, allowing it to use your phone’s GPS to track your movements or walks.  Over the years I have used many devices to record my bike rides via GPS. I have to say that the Fitbit Blaze really offers a fast and impressive connection. The Garmin Edge bike computers are much faster than most I’ve tried (with the exception of the 810, 520 and 25 – see our article comparing these Garmin Edge bike computers here). In the Fitbit Blaze, the GPS works like this: you swipe to workout, tap the workout icon, then scroll and tap to select one of the sports you’ve set as workout shortcuts (see the multisport feature above). If the exercise is GPS-enabled, a gear icon will appear in the lower right corner. It’s just common sense, really. Your Fitbit can only record your GPS route when you’re actually going somewhere, that is, when you’re walking, running or cycling. GPS recording for training selection is not possible, because going from exercise bike to weight bench is not an event that can be recorded! Fitbit Blaze in sports tracker mode, ready to record activity via your smartphone’s GPS chip. word-image-17673 After selecting a GPS activity, one of the following two events is triggered. The Fitbit Blaze searches for your phone’s GPS and lets you know when it’s found. Then press Go! And go. Overall, the lack of a GPS chip on the Fitbit Blaze is not a problem at all! In fact, this is an advantage because the watch looks thinner. If you have a smartphone with GPS (which everyone has), you don’t need a GPS chip in your fitness tracker. And here’s the biggest advantage: because you’re not paying for an extra GPS chip that you don’t really need, the Fitbit Blaze is great value for money compared to many fitness trackers with GPS chips (which do require you to pay).

Connecting Strava to your Fitbit Blaze

Once you capture GPS activity, your Fitbit silently and automatically uploads your route to Strava, provided you have a Strava account and have linked it to your Fitbit (read more about Strava here). It’s very easy to do. I love this job. Sometimes I get a text message on my Fitbit, and it’s a friend congratulating me on the trip I just took a few minutes ago. I didn’t even know it was posted yet and I’m already getting rave reviews! Related Content: Fitbit Charge HR detailed review

Charging the battery with the Fitbit Blaze

The Fitbit Blaze lasts 5 days on a single charge, and longer if you charge it in the shower (a good habit to keep from accidentally taking the Fitbit in the shower). To charge the Fitbit Blaze, remove the watch face from the band and place it in the small charging station. The charger is equipped with a cord and a plug for connection to a power source. It takes about an hour to fully charge the device. When charging is complete, you will receive a notification via SMS (which you will receive on your smartphone). The Fitbit Blaze is a great fitness tracker!

The Fitbit Blaze is an excellent fitness tracker. I enjoyed it for a few weeks and can honestly recommend it. There are cheaper fitness trackers out there, but then you have to give up the built-in optical heart rate monitor, and I’m not up for that. I want to measure my heart rate, but I don’t want to wear a chest strap 24/7. Heart rate monitoring is a great fitness tool that also allows you to monitor your sleep patterns. This fitness tracker measures your heart rate as accurately as any dedicated heart rate monitor I’ve tried. In fact, Fitbit trackers are now used in medical research and testing. All in all, it’s no surprise that Fitbit holds 75% of the activity tracker market. It’s hard to find something that can compete.

Fitbit BlazeSummary

I really think the new Fitbit Blaze is a game changer and a big step up from all the previous Fitbits. The Fitbit Blaze is much more aesthetically pleasing thanks to its colorful front panel and overall sleek design. I find it much more appealing and fun than, say, the monochrome face of the Fitbit Surge. The Blaze also has an interesting feature: The watch can be easily put on and taken off with the band, which means you can buy different bands for it and get a different look – just like an Apple Watch. Price : The Fitbit Blaze is reasonably priced because it doesn’t have a built-in GPS chip. However, as mentioned, this is not a problem at all. The Fitbit Blaze still records your running and biking trips well. The Fitbit Blaze deserves to be a bestseller. You get value for your money and it looks good too. I have many compliments about him. Of all the fitness trackers I’ve tried, the Fitbit Blaze is definitely my top choice. Fitbit Blaze is a good choice for those who want to buy a really nice and feature-rich sports tracker. The new Fitbit Blaze comes in a variety of colors and combinations. word-image-17675

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Fitbit blaze any good?

Fitbit Blaze Review: Overall, the Fitbit Blaze is a pretty good trackers. It’s very accurate, looks good, and is easy to use. It has a lot of features and is also waterproof, which is great. It’s also pretty affordable for what it is. Fitbit Blaze is one of Fitbit’s newest products. It’s an activity tracker that tracks steps, distance, calories, and sleep. It also has built in GPS so you can track your runs and walks. Lastly, it has a heart rate monitor, so you can keep track. If you can keep up with all of that, the Fitbit Blaze is a great tracker.

What can the Fitbit blaze do?

The Fitbit Blaze is Fitbit’s entry into the smartwatch market. It’s a fitness-focused device that learns your steps, sleep, and heart-rate data, and then tracks them against goals and progress you’ve set. It also has notifications for texts, email, calls, calendar reminders, and alarms. With Fitbit’s latest offering, the Blaze, much has been made of Fitbit’s new smartwatch. But what does it really offer? The Blaze is a fitness tracker that also serves as a smartwatch, unlike the older Charge HR and Surge, which are only fitness trackers. One of its core features is the ability to communicate with outside devices, which is similar to the functionality found in Samsung’s smartwatches. (Most notably, it offers to share your Fitbit data with popular fitness apps and services, including MyFitnessPal and MapMyRun, via a special section in the app.) But what else can you do with it?

Is fitbit blaze discontinued?

Fitbit Blaze is the best fitness tracker that I’ve tested so far. It tracks steps, sleep, and calories and lets you set daily, weekly and monthly goals. The only thing that I would like to see is a heart rate monitor feature. It’s better to use a heart rate monitor on a daily basis to track your heart rate and calorie burn. Not only that, you can also use the fitness tracker to monitor your heart rate while working out. I highly recommend the Fitbit Blaze if you are looking to add a fitness tracker to your daily routine. Fitbit Blaze Review: The Fitbit Blaze is Fitbit’s new GPS-based activity tracker, which means the only thing it tracks is your steps, distance, and calories burned. Since the Blaze is a replacement for the Fitbit Charge 2, we’re very interested to see how it fares against its predecessor, which had a very high “star rating” on Amazon — but the reviews for the Charge 2 were mixed. So let’s see if the Blaze can get a similar rating: https://www.amazon.com/Fitbit-Blaze-Review-Fitbit-Charge-Replacement/dp/B01N4GZMXG/
